Latest Updates from Our Project:

Mutant Miniatures
about 2 months ago – Thu, Jun 25, 2026 at 12:16:16 PM

Hello Everyone!

Good news! I have a photo of the four Mitant Minis. This stretch goal hasn't been unlocked yet, but... once it is, these will be available in the pledge manager for $26. .

They are a little hard to see in this group shot, so let me give you a little more info.

Because not everything is as it seems, most (not all) of the monsters are actually mutated humans described in fantasy terms, such as goblins, bugbears, etc.  The person responsible for sending you on youur quest is a wizard named L Seader (who is also a mutant).

As your players (and their characters) learn more about the world they inhabit, it will gradually become clear to them that they are not living in an idyllic medieval fantasy world, but are in fact on a generational starship with no knowledge of how they got there, where they are headed, or why. All will be made clear in the end, but first you must fetch the Tome of knowledge for the wizard.

So we're oretty close to the final stretch ogal. I'd love to hit it and make these miniatures available in the pledge manager. We just need a little push. You can even add to your pledge now and it will show up as credit in the Pledge Manager. $26 for a set of  all four minis.

Only five days left...

Thanks everyone! Talk soon.

1 Week left, Origins, New Add-On, Stretch Goals
about 2 months ago – Wed, Jun 24, 2026 at 07:50:21 AM

Hello Everyone!

Thanks so much for all of your support on this project, especially over the last week. I keep saying this, because it's true. All of this happens because of you folks! I really appreciate it.

Origins was awesome and I was really excited to meet a few of you there. I had a great time and even managed to play a few games. I definitely plan to go back next year.

We have just under a week left, which is wild. This project has flown by (for me). We're super close to the final stretch goal, which is the mutant miniatures. I should have a pic of all four of those those in the next update. They will be available as an add-on in the pledge manager (IF we hit the final stretch goal).

Here's a WIP pic of one of them.

Speaking of add-ons, I've added a new one.  The Triglin Miniatures (Set 1) from The Carnivorous Cauldron. These three-eyed goblins are pretty awesome and an integral part of the story in The Carnivorous Cauldron. They also make GREAT mutants for your MCC game.

We're working on a second set of those guys, in addition to the mutant minis. Those will be done soon.

That's it for now, but expect another update with more pics soon.

Fourth Stretch Goal Unlocked! Fifth Stretch Goal Revealed!
2 months ago – Tue, Jun 16, 2026 at 09:46:30 AM

Hey Everyone!

Thanks so much for going to space with us. The launch and the llanding are pretty exciting, but the long trip in the middle can be... a little less exciting for sure. Still, we are well on our way to Lalande 21185C!

Progress on Stretch Goals!
You managed to unlock the 4th stretch goal, which is super awesome. This means the second "post-credits scene" will be included for free in the adventure. The Shuttlecraft is a mini adventure, set after the main events of
The Eye of God, and meant as a way to help transition things to the next adventure.

Now that SG4 is unlocked, it's time to reveal Stretch Goal #5! If we hit this stretch goal, a pack of Mutant Minis (suitable for use with any non-zombie, post-apocalyptic setting, but especially designed for use with The Eye of God and the other Apocalyptic Adventure! modules) will be made available for purchase as an Add-On in the Pledge Manager.

No pictures yet, but we'll have some before the pledge manager launches.

Thanks a bunch for being here. Talk soon!

2 weeks in! Origins, Surveys, and a security update
2 months ago – Mon, Jun 15, 2026 at 05:59:17 PM

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for being here. We couldn't do any of this without you!!

It's been a weird week. Overall pretty quiet the last few days, aside from some minor pledge fluctations. These things happen, but I'm still really hopeful we'll bust through stretch goal #4, given how close we are to it.

Origins Fame Fair
We have 2 weeks left, and I'm going to be at Origins for the last half of this week, so if you're going, just look for the guy in the Explore Dungeons shirt (I can't imagine there would be more than one of us, but you never know). If you want to connect, I'll mostly be in the business panels, or playing Battlestations & Heroscape.

Surveys!
This doesn't apply to this campaign, yet... but PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR SURVEYS. We have a small boatload of outstanding, nondigital pledges that have not completed their surveys. You already gave me money, but I can't send yur stuff without a completed survey.

Security Update:
Just a quick note, BackerKit will never ever ask you to verify your account or payment details through an external link, and that official BackerKit communications always display a BackerKit staff badge.

Ok sure, but why?
Apparently some malicious actors were fake backing the project and then posting phishing links in the comments. Some of you reported them (THANK YOU!!) nefore I ever saw them, and they (along with their fake pledges) have been removed and reported to the payment processors and other places. If you see them pop up again, please do not click on their link, but please DO report them to me or BackerKit (or both).

Thank you everyone.

1 week in...
2 months ago – Mon, Jun 08, 2026 at 03:21:46 PM

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a nice weekend and that you got some table time with your favorite games. I'd love to hear about what you're playing, so please drop me a comment and tell me about it. I played a 10 hour game of Twilight Imperium (4th Edition, with both expansions) and I'm still recovering. It was a lot of fun. Last Bastion is a hard faction to play, especiually early game, but I represented well. (No, I didn't win. The Deepwrought Scholarate player ran away with the points.)

I'll be at Origins next week/weekend, so look for me and say hi. I'll (probably) be the (only) guy in the Explore Dungeons t-shirt (and no, I won't be playing Twilight Imperium for at leasst another year).

For those of you that backed the Explore Dungeons Zine #4 (plus more) campaign, we still have a few outstanding surveys. So please check and make sure you complete yours so we can send you your stuff!

We're one week in, with 3 more to go. We had a great few days, not only funding, but also unlocking three of the stretch gials. Scott is going to be super busy finishing those up.

Howerver, as expected, things have tapered off a bit. The backer train seems to be stuck in a desolate stretch, and we could really use some help getting it going again.  This is normal, but I figure I'd as for some help. I really want to hit that 4th stretch goal, because the Shuttlecraft adventure is going to be great fun and an awesome way to tie into the next adventure.

I'd also like to take a moment and share some of my plans for this Apocalyptic Adventure!  product line...

This module, The Eye of God, is not only designed to help transition your DCC players to MCC, it's also the introduction to a whole new setting for Mutant Crawl Classics aka MCC RPG:  Lalande 21185C (of course, the locals have another name for it...)

You can call it whatever you like, use it with Terra AD, or your own world, but there's going to be a whole new planet to explore as we continue to publish adventures under this banner. I've got pitches for 7 (SEVEN!!) more books in my inbox right now, and my plan is to develop and publish ALL of them over the next 18 months, including an MCC MegaDungeon by Julian (Bernick) and a Patron AI and Wetware source book from Bob (Brinkman). I've also got a pitch from Scott for the sequel to The Eye of God.

All that to say, we have a bunch of amazing stuff planned, and we're hoping you're all going to come along for the ride. And don't worry, we have more stuff planned for the Heroic Adventure! line as well. Speaking of...

Bob (Brinkman) is finishing up the next book in this series, Veins of the Fallen. We've already sent out some art requests, and let me tell you... it's gonna be a banger. I'm excited, Bob's excited... and well, I hope you're excited too. More on that one soon.

Our current HA! book, The Carnivorous Cauldron, is in the Pledge Manager phase. The book is done, the art is done, and the minis are in house. So once the surverys are completed, I just have to send it all to print and then wait. It's a good day to be me. Julian (Bernick) and Scott (Moore) did an amazing job on the DCC and 5e books, respectively, with Brett (Hess) & Raven (Evermoor) handling cartography duties, and Dan (Smith) and Raven handling the cover and interior art.  If you missed out on that campaign, it's available in the add-ons section for this project along with the other adventures in the series. I highly encourage you to check them out, because they're great!

If you like what we're doing and want to see more, please tell your friends to back this awesome project so we can keep making more and more of them!

Thanks for reading all this! We really appreciate all of your support. We couldn't do any of this without you.

Talk to you soon.
Chris
